Good evening all, Enning here. Hahaha, I'm here to update. It's my first time posting in this blog, so yeah. (like what, lol.) So do inform me if there's a need to change anything that I've typed below. Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience caused, people.

So.. I think there's a need for me to type down our choir golden principles, so here's it.

Our mission

1. Making full use of our singing talent

2. Understanding the techinal and theoretical aspects of singing
- Important qualities of sound needed to produce: Clear, Full, Healthy and Expressive.
- Learn to sight read.

3. Creating a choir identity
- Realising the importance of each member in a choir.
- Feel proud of ourselves while accepting feedback and comments from others.

4. Building confidence and qualities such as discipline, commitment, and responsibility
- Taking initiative for the benefit of the Choir.
- Learning to prioritize.
- Willing to make sacrifices.
- Respecting fellow members, teachers and conductors.
- Being serious in learning and performing.
- Stay forcused during practices.

5. Apreciating and enjoying music while sharing the joy with our family, friends and community.

Attendance

1. Inform your Sectional Leader in advance if you're not coming to choir or going to be late.

2. Please mark the attendance as soon as practice starts.
(0): For those who are absent at that point of time.
(0 with a /): For those who were late but only after facing the consequences (Refer to below)

Performances and rehearsals

1. Smile, enjoy yourselves.

2. Mobile phones are not allowed.

3. Appropriate attire (Informal/formal)

4. Before performing: Only conductors/teachers are allowed to use verbal communication. Hand signals are allowed.

5. When performing, no communication is allowed between members, no giggling.

6. After performing, enter or exit quietly, smiling and gracefully. No communication till reaching the holding venue.

Practices

1. Be punctual.
-15 minutes allowance if raining

2. Bring pocket files for every practice with required scores filled in.

3. Switch your phones to 'Silent' mode during practices

4. Do not use your phones.

If one fails to do so, is to face consequences.

Consequences

1. Attendance
- Absent with no valid reasons (e.g. more than twice per month: 10 minutes of "Chair")
- 2nd offence: Special Yoga

2. Performance and rehearsals
- If any members fails to obey any of the rules without an acceptable reason: 5 minutes of "Tabletop"

3. Practices
- If caught for not obeying any of the rules, a detention of 30 minutes will have to be served after practice. Alternatively, you can choose 5 minutes of both "Chair" and "Tabletop".

*Rules/Consequences are subjected to changes only with agreement of the whole choir including conductor and teachers.

< Warning: For the below, there's not a need to read it. But if you want, sure. These are just some thoughts from me. And some boring words. So yup. >

Here's it, it's not much work actually if you think about it. We do not need a lot from you. We just want you to listen when it's time to listen, come to practices punctually, and concentrate. (and stuffs like that, ya know.) Please pardon us if we ever sounds bossy, or am asking too much from you.

You're not the only one going through all these, the whole choir is. So, just do these favours. I hope it's not too much to ask for. As for me, I'll do them too. (I know I hadn't be oh-so-awesome, but you see, I'll try.) Next year shall be our SYF, let's aim for a Silver? I believe we could do it if we give it our best shot. Nothing is impossible right? You reap what you sow, so let's all just work hard together.

Please do not keep skipping choir practices just because you don't feel like coming, or because you think it's too bored. It's mean sometimes. You've to understand what goes wrong when you get scolded instead of getting sulky and complain. Think about it and put yourself in others' shoes. No one like nagging, neither do I like getting scolded. I'm like you, so I understand exactly how you feel. So don't keep doing that. Especially next year when SYF's already coming.

I really hope we could do it, because we can if you all work together. I'm sorry for being so naggy and draggy. Please pardon me for this long post. Sorry that I'm being such a humdrum person. (did I use that word correctly?!) alright, takecares choirmates. Hope you're enjoying this holiday alright. ^^ see you all on 28 alright!

No worries , i will try to check other fun stuffs that are cheaper at Sentosa . :D )

btw, time travel very fast that i never notice that i'm in SEC4 already,preparing for my N-LEVEL that's coming up and also it has been quite sometime never see all the choir members and especially MR THAM ...MISS all of YOU ! !

going through this CCA in my life has been a wonderful journey i had in Boon Lay Sec . i really learn a lot plus i had FUN with all of you when CHOIR practice starts... different kinds of music i learn and languages too.., i also given the opportunities to bound together with other school and singing together too ,..i really had FUN..

Hi, my name is Stephanie. I had been in choir for four years. As singing is part of my hobby, i enjoy going to choir. But i had learnt that choir is not only about singing. What matter most is a "teamspirit" in order to become one united choir. It is not easy to do so because we really need cooperation with one another. But guess what, choir had achieve it. The choir has shown it at last.

You may think that choir practises are boring and you might not want to go. You might that wasting time to come for choir. But look, choir need you, choir want you and choir is part of you. Ask yourself again why you chose choir? It is your passion toward it.

Throughout my four years, I enjoy choir. The memory of singing together with every choirmate is what I will forever keep it in my heart. We might be started out as strangers, but bonding came as journey go on. Once you thought that person might be your enemy, may now be your best friend because through singing, we learn to understand the emotion of others and we learn to put ourselves in other people shoes. We learn to grow.

I just want to say that there are many good memory about choir and there is always a place in my heart for choir. And i hope choir will get Silver or Gold next year. All the best!

Firstly, let me conqratulate the new President ,Vice-President ,SL andd whatever there is.

And I just want to say that as a Choir, we have achieve so much toqether.
Andd I really really hope the time we've spend toqether will be remembered.
I am really honoured and happy to be your President for this past year.
Each and everyone of you is special and I Love Being with Choir.
I must admit that sometimes Choir practices may seem a bit draqqy, borinq and tirinq.
But havinq you people around for Choir practice made each practice more enjoyable and fun.
And a memorable one too.

Althouqh there's always some conflicts qoinq on around the Choir, I hope this wont't affect your time durinq Choir practices as we are a Choir and we need to work as One.

I just Love our Choir Bond. It's very stronq and I hope it will continue. So seniors, please make the juniors feel accepted in the Choir.
Ohkaay, I'm talkinq crap already.

I just want to say that beinq in Choir has tauqht me a lot!

Since almost all the seniors have written their farewell, now its my turn.
So it's been quite a journey with you all and a short one with the juniors.

All I hope for is you all to remember the faces of the

seniors and remember the good they have thought you.

Forgive us for our sins or bad teaching, but remember

our words of advice and bring it on with you.

You all are just like another family and so

I hope you all will work together and achieve what

YOU want in next year's SYF. Dont go for expectations,

but for what you want to achieve.

My turn to post,err 4 years passes and to me,its just like a blink of eye. I have finally step down but kind of don't bear to leave. I won't forget those fun and enjoyment moment in blss choir.Starting of 2007,when i'm just like those sec one,blur blur choose choir as one of my CCA choices.I was selected but i wanted to change to concert band as I scare tat choir will be torturing.however,i was psycho by my senior,guo jie,johnson and elvin(although now the sec one member doesnt know whose them) but just so you know,they are de few jokers in choir which made de whole choir more lively=less boring. TO SEC ONE MEMBERS,although I dont know all of you well but don feel tat choir is boring(although sometime its really boring) but at least you can make new frenz and one day you might find tat after all,choir is not so boring. TO MDM SUZIELA(if you are viewing now),although you had left but I want to say a thank you to you.you are a great teacher for your those effort tat you put in for de choir.you wont let us feel tat choir is like torturing place unlike MRS GOH.which will only know how to spoilt our mood in choir. TO MDM YONG,Thankyou too for being our choir teacher as you can understand wat we wan. TO MDM SHIDAH,although I don know you well but I think you will also made a good choir teacher.To be frank,starting when we were told tat you were our new choir teacher,I am thinkin tat luckly i will be stepping down soon as I dislike you,because you tend to act like you undertand de choir alot.But after tat saturday when I was told to serve detention with de other member tat were late too,we have interact with you and I found tat actually you are quite good,so don scare away those sec one choir member Haha. TO MR THAM,Thank alot for being our choir instructor for so long,i admit tat i'm not a good singer and i'm sorry tat sometime I will tend to spoilt de whole choir. You are de best choir instructor compare to de previous one and my primary school choir instructor. Although sometime de choir tend to disappoint you,but I hope you will continue to be blss choir instructor. TO RAMADAN,don keep on skipping choir,when we are gone,you will be de oldest already.So set a good example for de junior man! i've been in choir for four years, and i can honestly tell you, about 85% of the practices are really tiring. but.. at the end of the day, i'll always have a sense of satisfaction! i haven't been a good example to the members, i admit. i don't really attend the practices, and i'm not even one of the better singers. don't follow my footsteps, juniors. i'm sorry for that. the most memorable practices are probably those practices we had late at night during choir camp 2008 (i didn't attend the 2009 one). i remember us singing really well during those practices.. and we had fun too! would like take this chance to thank mr. tham for the patience towards all of us all these while. thank you mr. tham for tolerating all our nonsenses. members, please continue to work hard and aim for excellence in all that you do (school creed). aim for a silver in the next upcoming syf, don't disappoint mr. tham okay. i know you guys can do it.

ever since i stopped attending practices, every single time i ask you how is choir, you'd always tell me how disappointed you are with yourself. don't be! you gave in your best already, i believe. don't ever give up okay. you're the senior in choir now, be serious okay. take care of your juniors, be a good example, don't skip choir anymore! endure this last year and four more months next year, you'll be free :D cheers! i'll miss you, don't forget me!

I'm Mai Ly from alto :D I just want to tell you guys NEVER GIVE UP! ^^ I believe our choir can succeed and acquire GOLD WITH HONOUR for the next coming SYF \(O.0)/ Having participated in SYF 2009, I know that it was very gruelling for all of us to both focusing on study and practices for SYF. But whatever the result was, I was very proud of our choir as we did put our best on this performance and there was nothing for us to regret about ^^ However please take note!! You should attend all the choir practices. Eventually, you will know how important your attendance is when you reach sec 4 -.-It is quite a waste if you study very hard but your conduct isn't good due to CCA. Make more friends in choir from different sections, you can feel more enjoyable when you come to every practices. Again, I hope you guys can achieve whatever you wish for, in either choir or your study. Make your school life becomes meaningful so that you don’t repent when you grow older and older like me sob~ sob~ :x

So far practices are good and well done.
For all your effort, you guys deserve a break and so Monday, there will be no pratice.

However, tomorrow, there will be practice at 8.15am sharp.
You all should be there dressed in full costume and ready to rehearse.

If everyone coorperates well, comes early, and dont go against any rule, you will not waste your own time and I assure you you will have a great performance at Excel Fest.

Remember 5 rules:

1) No usage of handphones during practice.
2) No vulgarities.
3) Bring your files EVERY PRACTICE.
4) No unreasonable late coming.
5) RESPECT FOR EVERYONE.

All rules will start tomorrow & the punishment for all rules is detention. So, the committee and teachers will decide how many minutes you need to serve.

Thank you to those who have helped with the auditions on Monday and your help is greatly appreciated. We did the auditions at a good speed this year and its all thanks to your hardwork and dedication.

For those who have came but helped with the posters/ banners, thank you to you too. You see, we are capable of doing things more efficiently if we do it together. Good job yea!

Lets all now focus on CCA Open House preparation. It's exactly one week away and we have plenty to do okay. But I want you all to most importantly focus on singing cause that will be the first impression we show to them as a singing group. I know you can do it as one. let's enjoy the song as feel the fun in it. :D

On Monday, practice will start at about 2 so please be punctual. We really need everybody to turn up.

Things to bring on Monday:

- 2 dollars for the fund.
- File & normal stuffs

For this week, I want everybody to try to make your time after school on Wednesday & Thursday free cause we would most probably finish our banner on both days. Let's sacrifice something to improve the Choir okay? Let's do this together.

Just here to tell you people that during this December Holidays on the
18, 21 and 23 Dec from 9 a.m to 11 a.m

Practices is to get you guys ready for BLSS Open House for the new Secondary 1 students in the year 2010.

If you guys can't make it, you can either inform Safirah, Rafie or Terecia. It's best to text Safirah. Heheh.

Cause I won't be reading the blog any longer. So if you tag there I won't know. You can get my number from your fellow choir members. Thanks!

And make sure you guys have A Valid Reason for not coming. Eg, Overseas Trip.

**Consent forms will be given out on the 18 Dec and your parents can call the school to check or confirm that there's practice.

If you don't come for the practices without Valid Reasons, you will not perform for the Open House, then you won't get any performing points and so Your Conduct will be affected.

Okay hello choristers. This is an update regarding the concert on 13th December.

1) WHAT TIME AND WHERE SHOULD I GATHER ON THAT DAY?

Please meet at BOON LAY INTERCHANGE at 5.15 PM SHARP. The committee will take attendance, we will take the train at 5.30 PM. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE. Tickets will be issued at the Esplanade.

2) WHAT SHOULD I WEAR ON THAT DAY?

1) NO Short pants (that includes FBT, hot pants etc)
2) NO Mini skirts
3) NO Revealing attire (that includes sleeveless shirts, tank tops)
4) NO Slippers

Do wear something decent, like jeans, long skirts, long pants, long sleeve top etc. Bare in mind this is a concert at the Esplanade, so please dress nicely :) No sloppy attire please.

3) WILL I GET A CONSENT FORM FOR THIS?

Mdm Suzie is generating the forms now and will most probably get it done by this week or next week. The committee will send a text message to all of you to gather one day in school and we will issue out the consent forms then. SO PLEASE CHECK YOUR INBOX DAILY, ok?

4) WILL FOOD BE PROVIDED?

Nope, sorry no dinner will be provided. So please have a heavy lunch/early dinner ok? We can't help you if your stomach grumbles during the concert ;p

CHOIR CAMP WAS A BLAST!

Thanks to you all too for being a part of it.

Okay, so I really hoped everyone had fun and have gotten new friends too.

I hope you all have learnt to trust each other more. :)

We really had fun with the movie screening, water games, amazing race, and rugby( eventhought we were already deprived of energy).

I hope you all have learnt that if you are intelligent enough, you can have fun but at the same time be discipline and learn alot of things. Truly, the leaders believe you all are fun people and will one day bring the choir name up. Do your best my fellow friends.

I know you all can do it and I know you all will put up a great ( last ) show for our seniors. Yes, they are leaving and this is the last chance to make a good impression. I just would like to confirm something.

Well, I've been seeing alot of you all not having interest in Choir.
Can I ask why?

I know some of you are forced, or somehow or another do not like to be in Choir.
I think most of you think Choir is boring, lame and just the worst CCA.
I really do not know why.

You can't expect to like something with one try.
You all are already in this CCA and you all can never change it.

Why not just try to have fun in Choir?
Why not enjoy singing ?
& why not smile when you're in the room ?

Choir is not a CCA only for girls,
only for the nerds,
only for immature people,
or any of such nonsense you think about.

It's a CCA where people from all walks of life,
put all their problems aside for awhile,
and just sing to enjoy the gift God have gave,
your very precious voices.

And Choir is for everybody,
and those who don't enjoy it,
are wasting a big part of their life.

Safirah and me will strive our best to make choir more fun.
& i really mean more fun. ;)

DEAR JUNIORS, DEAR CHOIR,

It's sad to hear that some of the juniors are saying that "Choir is boring, especially without the seniors." Hmmmm, we need to step up the game choir! We need to eliminate all the bad attitude, all that is stopping you as a choir to progress together.

BLChoir, you guys are lucky. Indeed lucky.... no doubt. For a couple of reasons:

1) YOU HAVE AN AWESOME CONDUCTOR. He perseveres with you, he never gives up on you, he motivates you, he's there for you to improve your singing skills and your attitude.

2) YOU ARE A HUGE CHOIR. As compared to previous years, you are double the size and what the teachers are thankful about. Assuming that we don't count the absentees and latecomers and people who PON choir practice, the choir IS huge. AND YOU HAVE TO COUNT YOURSELVES LUCKY. Other schools have to 'suffer' with only 30 girls and at least 3 to 4 boys. How many people do you have in your choir, how many? Are you thankful enough that you're not in that position?

I understand that being in the choir for only a few months, you have yet to understand all this. You may think singing just needs a little practice, a teeny weeny bit of effort to produce a good sound. My dear juniors, you are wrong. Singing DOES need A LOT of effort. I do remember Mr Tham telling the choir that we are like swans - we may swim gracefully at the surface but deep underwater, we are paddling really hard to make that perfect move. Similarly, every choir practice is important, choir. It is the only chance to hone the skills, to bond with each other and most importantly while learning, you should also have fun with your sections and the entire choir.

You may think that: "Hey why should i attend choir practice? How come the teachers are nagging so much? Why are the seniors so KPO and bugging our lives? They have jolly well graduated, so why should they be concern about our state now?"

Don't you want the choir to 'look good' in front of the entire school? Don't you want people to watch us in awe as we sing? I bet you know what people think of us. You don't face this alone choir, we have been getting those bad remarks.. so why don't we change for the better and prove them wrong?

Putting achievements aside, don't YOU want to make a difference in choir? Don't YOU want to tell the whole world how proud you are in BLSS choir, how proud you are to be in a choir with the most awesome conductor? Don't you want to feel good about yourself?

We seniors are not KPO, but we want you to realise choir IS fun, IS enjoyable if you put your heart and soul to it. This can only be done when you are fully committed to singing, and when you fully realise your potential. YOU DO HAVE POTENTIAL CHOIR!!

Let me challenge you: Watch other choirs sing. Not to demoralise yourself or anything, but really. Watch how they move their bodies and emotions to fit into the song. How they make full use of they expressions. You will then realise what Mr Tham is actually trying to teach you, when he talks about the diaphragm and all that. How he wants the sound to be focused, brought forward, not airy and yadaa yadaa. First step, Youtube, imeem, just listen and be inspired. Without you knowing, you will be motivated to sing like them.

I've been really wordy (oops xD) and I hope it's all for a good cause :)

Just so you know, seniors, teachers, never gave up on you. Just so you know, seniors from many many years ago still wants to know and wants to be updated about choir. Make them proud, make yourselves proud, make the school proud, alright juniors? Kaleidorama's coming up, the end of year concert is approaching soon (i heard?) so please put in the effort. You will soon see the fruits of your labour - the effort you put in will all be worthwhile.

AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, EVEN IF THE CHOIR IS NOT YOUR FIRST CHOICE, EVEN IF YOU FIND CHOIR BORING, A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME, PLEASE DO REMEMBER,

DON'T GIVE UP ON CHOIR.

So far, choir practices have been very slow and not as fruitful as expected.

The committee believe we all are capable of more and can do so much better

but one thing for sure,

you people have to really be serious.

Once you’ve step into the room, just focus your mindset on learning new vocal techniques and singing to your bestest ability.
You people must put your handphones and friends aside.
No more messaging , no more talking.

Please listen to what your sectional leaders say or whoever

asks you to keep quite and focus because only then the choir will change.
You guys must start with yourself and start changing your attitude.

Exams are around the corner and I think we should cover

as much as we can soon.
We must stay focused and finish Suriram in one more week.
Practice at home, sing to the mirror, project your voice. Breath in deep, use your diaphragm to sing.
All this if you practice at home, would make a lot of difference.

Please try your best these last few weeks before exams.
Never give up choir!
Please please please remember your notes and what you have learnt!

By next Friday,
You all have to memorise the first 3 pages already and is very sure of your notes.
Your sectional leaders will know who practiced at home and who didn’t.

Since its the holidays.......and we are all rotting at home.......here are some singing tips to keep your mind afresh! :D

1. Warm up your voice before singing. This is essential, because like any muscle in your body, your vocal also need to stretch to avoid injury when you sing. To do so, you can do a lip roll exercise with piano scales or replace the song lyrics with the lip roll. When doing lip trills keep the jaw relaxed and lips closed and try to make a motor boat sound. When doing lip roll try to keep your stomach relaxed and don't push, just let the sound flow out.

2. Correct your posture. Stand tall with one foot slightly in front of the other one, feet shoulder width apart. This allows you to breathe easily and to allow maximum lung capacity to allow better notes and phrases. Stand up straight, shoulders back and down, floating over your torso. Make sure that your chest is high to give room for your lungs to expand and contract. Relax your jaw, relax your face.

3. Pronounce your vowels correctly. Words are truly nothing but a constant succession of vowels with consonants dropped in occasionally to create meaning. So practice all your vowels at every pitch (high, low and in between). Here are some pure vowels to practice with: AH as in "father", EE as in "eat", IH as in "pin", EH as in "pet", OO as in "food", UH as in "under", EU as in "could", OH as in "home". Try singing all of these vowels while maintaining your core sound which is the resonance in the mask of the face.

4. Breathe through your diaphragm. There are teachers that teach you to push your stomach when singing, and this is breathing through your diaphragm. You fill your stomach, not upper chest with air. It makes air last longer, and notes much stronger.

5. When singing the higher notes simply bend your knees to imagine the notes is not high, this way you can hit higher notes.

6. Avoid screaming when you are singing. To do this, raise the soft palate (as in drinking through a straw or yawning) and place the tone in the mask of the face.

7. Emoting isn't about how your face looks , it's about how you feel about the song!

and lastly......

8. Always remember to just be yourself while singing. Remember that even if others don't say so, you will always have a beautiful voice!

Here are the confirmed dates and timings for practices during the June holidays:

2nd & 4th of June: 12.30 PM to 2.30 PM
23rd of June: 3.30PM to 5.30PM
25th of June: 08.00 AM to 01.00 PM

Please remember to bring your own food (in case your stomach grumbles during practice hahaha). No junk food please! You still need to take care of our voices. Also, do have a heavy lunch/breakfast alright, you need sufficient energy to sing!

Give it your all and attend the following practices, it's the final drill yo! Let's put up an amazing performance! I'm sure you want to prove your classmates/schoolmates wrong. We cannot let people ciriticise us all the way. It's a great platform for all of us to improve and to show the school our true potential!

Hello choristers! Such a long time since the last update huh? (MYE was a torture righttttteeeee???)

Anyway, CHOIR PRACTICE WILL RESUME THIS FRIDAY, 22ND MAY! Hooray! Mr Tham will be coming, so make sure you attend too alright. You really don't want to spoil his mood.. Nobody likes anybody to spoil their day anyway. So don't be late! AVA Room at 1.15pm ok!

I'm not sure the sec fours are needed to attend this friday's practice but I know Kaleidorama's coming up, so yeah MAYBE but I doubt so..... Practices are in June anyway, everything will be confirmed soon and will be updated here! (I'm supposed to hand over this blog to someone else btw hahaha)

Hey! Just wanna say that i am very proud of you guys. This might be my last post in this choir blog and I would like to thanks every single choir member for contributing Their time for practices..You guys are really the BEST!! I'm really gonna miss you guys once I've stepped down.. Gonna miss all the laughter and the scolding we got from teachers.. loll..I will try to come back and visit you guys whenever I'm free. although I'm not sure when, but i will really come and visit you guys!! Hello everyone, I'm here again (:

Anyway, is everyone feeling better? I really hope so.. No more tears ok? You know how devastating I felt when all of you were crying in front of me? The seniors felt really terrible too.. ):

But really, I know all of you have done your best.. THAT'S ALL I ASK FOR. The medal itself, whatever it is, be it gold or silver or bronze will not replace all the good times we had together.. All the laughter in choir (hahahahaha), all the friendships we've made. That's something you should be proud that you have with you.. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL THE HARD WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Hey people.

I know we didn't really perform well today but hey, please don't feel demoralised or what not. It's the 15th of April that we should aim for. So please, don't give up. Even I'm trying my best to believe I can and to believe you guys can. You're not alone, we're all in this together.

This last lap of SYF, we're going to have morning practices. I think you're probably groaning and moaning but hey, please sacrifice a bit. We need to practice listening to each other more. And we cannot ALWAYS depend on mr tham all the time!!

So starting from this wednesday,

Choir practices at 'the bridge' at 7 am everyday. Only on thursdays, we'll start at 7.30 am.

Please spread around. I really hope attendance will be good. Let's give it our all everyone. You seriously don't want your effort to go down the drain right?

hello there........

well...first of all....i'm gonna praise the choir for singing well enough for 'arirang'...during the choir exchange on saturday.

however..'dana dana' was a little disastrous...due to our rushing.......haha :P

to overcome this,we should not get tensed up.....no matter whether we are the first choir to perform or the last. Try to relax,take deep breaths and CHILL PEOPLE...

our singing still has very little dynamics....i'm sure we all know that we sung in tune(VERY IN TUNE) when mr.tham asked us to 'swell'.
so...'swelling' is actually the key to our problems i believe....for our standard,i believe we should continue to do 'swelling'....it's the only way it can help us...yes..

SYF is like 10 days away.....choristers please PLEASE remember your parts and its dynamics....we CANNOT offer to forget these little things.......IT MIGHT ACTUALLY COST US OUR MEDAL. There is no time to be 'slacky' during practices....no time to groan.

our last 2 practices.....please make the best out of it...and to the guys....think about that silver medal...and how proud we are going to show it to our school....and everyone. BE MEN.AND STOP FOOLING AROUND.

for monday's performance: please treat it like SYF. SING WELL. SWELL. AND DO NOT RUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FOLLOW MR.THAM'S BEATS!!!!

and lastly sing with emotions.......a song cannot come alive without EMOTIONS.

SYF is freaking near already. I hope you guys are already stressed-out or panicky.. Well in a good way.

Anyway, it's seriously the right time to start the 'food ban'!!!

From now onwards, YOU ARE TO AVOID:

1) Deep-fried food/snacks (harms your throat)

2) Oranges/lemons/any kind of citrus fruits (causes cough and PHLEGM!)

3) Sweets/CHOCOLATES/ice creams etc

4) Sweet drinks!!!!!!!!

5) Anything that harms your throat (it depends on each individual actually)

Endure ok!!!!! You can enjoy your whole life eating choco or anything else right after SYF!

Having said that, please drink lots of water, like what Mr Tham said, at least 2 litres of water everyday! Remember our common goal everyone. Not really high up there but, really. It takes effort from every single of you to make our dream possible.

ANYWAY, OUR EXCHANGE IS IN TWO DAYS TIME!
Please report to school: this SATURDAY, 4th April, 7.45 AM SHARP.

The bus will leave at 8.15 and we're not going to wait for you if you turn up late ok. Seriously, I'm going to be super angry and you'll spoil my day and everybody's day! Hehehehe. It's kinda our last performance, yeah for most of us. Let's give it our best shot alright! Treat it as SYF performance!

there was a mistake on the oracle regarding the time, so practice resumes as per normal tomorrow at 1.15pm sharp! Sorry for any inconvenience caused! Spread around ok!

Hey guys!
In case many of you had forgotten the judging criteria for SYF, here it is:

50% TECHNIQUE:

Articulation
Diction
Dynamics
Intonation
Rhythm
Tone

50% MUSICIANSHIP:

Balance
Blend
Expression
Interpretation
Phrasing
Style

Based on the criteria, try to list down what you want to improve on and work on it ok. Practice with your friends to improve intonation or so on. Remember NOT TO NEGLECT your ending notes (especially your Dana Dana): pronouce all the doMMs and it's DONOU DONOU btw. Don't forget!!!

Let's all work hard ok, though there's not much time left.. Let's all not disappoint Mr Tham, Mr Tan, the teachers, the school, and of course, not to disappoint ourselves. GAMBATTE CHOIR!!!

Yet again, if you have any doubts regarding the pitching or whatnots, feel free to approach your SLs, I'm sure they'll be of great help.. Please learn from your mistakes and practice at home all your techniques Mr Tham taught us!
